Had a play around in Mame to see the differences. Now I'm not sure why, but what is labelled as being the Korean version in your setup is actually a bootleg, this is why the slowdown is so bad. Its still 60fps but they were more than likely using inferior hardware which is why the performance is so bad. Every other version of the game should be exactly the same which is confirmed as the scoreboards on the shmups forum do not differentiate between the region version used.
