Description:
Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness is a Tactical RPG game published by NIS America released on September 27, 2013 for the Sony PlayStation 3.
Disgaea D2 is the fifth game in the Disgaea franchise and the
direct sequel to the first game, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, set a few years later.
The story starts with our recently crowned Overlord, Laharl. None of the Netherworld’s inhabitants respect him (They never
respected him as Prince either). As a result, a group headed by the former Overlord’s vassal try to overthrow him, believing
Laharl isn’t a worthy successor to his father.
Gameplay is standard grid based Strategy except you can plan out your strategies instead of everyone attacking one at a time.
First you move your characters and set their attacks then select Execute to start your attack chain.
If a character uses a regular Attack, they have a chance to
perform what is called a Team Attack with up to 3 adjacent
characters (Proc chance is displayed in a window).
It’s the same core mechanics that Disgaea fanatics love.
The Weapon levels from D1 and D2 are back. I honestly liked this skill system better.
Magichange and Monster Fusion (and by extension Giant Weapon Magichange) has been replaced Monster Mounting so no more Giant Dragon Swords and shit.
This game is very grindy. It’ll be sorta hard for people who aren’t used to the grinding ( Quite easy for veterans since same
techniques as before *cough* lvl 99 *cough* CoO *cough*, same stuff to abuse. Mana is easy to get)
There’s a new power leveling scheme in this game relating to
using Towers, it makes leveling multiple characters at once a breeze.
